It has been a snowy Monday here in Iowa, so of course I decided to take advantage of it! Baking has always been something I enjoy but even more so when it’s snowing 🙂
I’m pretty good about not following the original recipes I find because there is always something that I want to add or replace. This was originally a chocolate chip cookie recipe but I put my own spin on it and it became a M&M cookie recipe!
The ingredients needed include:
- 1 stick of butter (softened)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup M&M’s
- 3/4 cup oats
First, set your oven to 375 degrees. Now, you need to mix together the softened butter and sugars. Then add the egg and vanilla. Mix in the flour and baking soda – mix well. Now you are ready to fold in the chocolate chips, oats, and M&M’s.
Next, it is time to scoop the cookie dough onto cookie sheets. I use parchment paper so they don’t stick to the pan 🙂 Drop the cookie dough on the parchment paper using rounded teaspoons or a small ice cream scoop. I usually get about 30-35 cookies out of one batch but just depends how big you make your scoops!
Pop these bad boys in the oven for about 10 minutes, then remove and cool! I always have to test one after it comes out of the oven to make sure they are worth serving to friends and family 😉
These will be ready for our NYE party this week!
