Whole Wheat Waffles

Hope you all are having a fantastic weekend!

We made one of our favorite breakfast recipes the other night – whole wheat waffles!  This is a super easy recipe the makes fantastic and fluffy waffles 🙂 And you can hardly tell that they are made with whole wheat flour!

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups skim milk
  • 3 oz applesauce

The first think I do is turn on the waffle makers so it can warm up while I make the batter. Then just mix up all the ingredients and let it sit for a couple minutes. Spray your waffle iron before you put about 3/4-1 cup batter in.

Cook the waffle until it is golden brown. This recipe will make about 5-6 waffles. Top them with whatever you prefer! We aren’t fans of syrup so we choose to top them with peanut butter, jelly, or honey 🙂
