Happy Sunday! Hope everyone is enjoying this fabulous weather!
This past week I tried out another new recipe. My husband’s work had a potluck where each department was in charge of bringing a food item from a different country in the world. His department got Sweden so we did some research on traditional Swedish food. I came across this recipe for Swedish chocolate balls online and decided to give it a try!
The recipe was pretty simple and most of the ingredients were already in my kitchen so it was a win-win 🙂
- 4 cups regular oats
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons coffee
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips, melted
- 1/2 powdered sugar
First, take a large bowl and mix together the oats, sugar, and cocoa powder. Then add the butter and mix together. I found the easiest way is to use your hands for this part!
Once you have a thick dough, add the coffee, vanilla, and melted chocolate. Mix again until well blended.
Pour the powder sugar into a separate, small bowl. Using your hands or a scoop, make small balls out of the dough. Place each ball into the powder sugar to coat then place on a baking sheet. Refrigerate the balls for a couple of hours and they are ready to go! By husband said they went over very well at the potluck and had great reviews 🙂
